MEDx Frequently Asked Questions - Statistics

Q:How do I create a Custom Waveform(set of regressors) for a Multiple Regression/Correlation Analysis ?

There are two ways to do this:

1. You can set this up using the Paradigm Editor
Toolbox -> Functional -> Define Paradigm

Specify the number of regressors you have in the field called Contrasts.
This will provide you with additional columns to fill in your custom regressors.

2. Using the waveform editor
Toolbox -> Functional -> Correlation Analysis -> Construct Model

a) Have each of your regressors saved out as a separate text file. The elements should be separated using a new line (tabs are also ok).

b) Set the total number of images (elements in each regressor) under Toolbox ->
Correlation Analysis -> Construct Model -> General Parameters

c) Use the waveform editor to add the files ones by one. The shape would be
custom for each. You would select the file and then load it and then click on Add to load the next file. For example if you had 7 regressors you would do it 7 times.

d) Save out the file
