MEDx Frequently Asked Questions - DICOM
Q: I tried to open some DICOM data and got an error message saying that
the path "is a directory". I have two inquiries on this issue.
Firstly, this error message is confusing because I have seen it not strictly
when I am opening a directory but also when I am opening a single file
or a set of files. Secondly, I am not sure why the error message is complaining
about a DICOM path being "a directory". After all, the User's
Guide makes it clear I can always open a DICOM path that "is a directory".
Yes, you can certainly always open a path that is a directory when you
are working with DICOM data; the wording in this error message is certainly
confusing. This error message at this time is a generic message and may
be generated by MEDx when opening DICOM as well as non-DICOM images; it
carries the general meaning that MEDx is running into a problem when trying
to open the data set.
